Harrison Yates is an Audio Engineer, Stage Hand, and Musician from Wellington, New Zealand. To refine his skills as an Audio Engineer, Harrison has been studying a Bachelor of Commercial Music at Massey University. This course has provided Harrison with a wealth of knowledge around studio recordings, live event engineering, lighting, social media management, marketing, and much much more. This course has also provided amazing opportunities, which Harrison has garnered valuable experience from. Whether it was working at a sold out Beths show, engineering an incredible audiovisual experience at Massey’s Great Hall or running amazing recording sessions for bustling musicians, Harrison has taken each opportunity given to him to build a lengthy portfolio.

In the studio, Harrison thrives on collaboration, working closely with artists and producers to ensure their vision is realized. He believes that every project deserves a unique touch, and his commitment to quality shines through in every recording. He has worked with bands such as Adult Friends, Voodoo Bloo, Wallflower and Blue Moon.
At events, Harrison makes use of his wealth of knowledge after years of being on stage as a performer. He has extensive knowledge of sound and music equipment, sound desks, and all the in-betweens, which allows him to engineer events seamlessly, and work with bands to create encapsulating experiences for their audiences. He has experience running sound and as a stage-hand at major events such as Cuba Dupa and Newtown Festival.
Harrison is currently seeking opportunities in the music industry, and is also delving into opportunities in film. He has already worked on two short films as a mixing engineer, creating intricate soundscapes and allowing the directors’ visions to be present in the sound.
